thinking about the boxster brake upgrade to a 72 car as seen on tre motorsports site in US , as per the autofarm kit and wondered if anyone has fitted these and has any thoughts ?

... just kidding. I think it would be best for you to a search on Pelican parts forums as our US friends have tried this a few times.

Saying that I have late Carerra wide A brakes on my car and it really does stop on a dime. They are more of a streight forward swap and no reall messing about.

I have also heard of people using the 928 S4 brakes too and they are awesome on an S4, I am sure they would great on a 911 too.

Let us know what you discover.

944 Turbo rear calipers (with minor machining mods) can be fitted to the front of an early 911 as long as it is already fitted with S caliper with 3.5" bolt spacing.

I have 930 brakes on the front of my 914

Used 3.2 struts, with 930 hub and the later type 81-89 disc. This set up fits over 7*15in Fuchs.

Another option I guess..

I have searched most of the threads on pelican about this topic and the general consensus is that they offer little better performance than the 3.2 brakes which are much easier to fit to the earlier cars, and the only real benefit is cosmetic. There are also alot of reports of pads squeeking on the boxster brakes that is difficult to cure, Im doing the 3.2 brake upgrade this weekend on my 72.

If you are intent on doing this conversion look on e-bay there are some boxter caliper adapter brakets on there for the A strut cars or there was last week anyway for about £90.

Its also a good idea to upgrade your 17mm master cylinder to the later 19mm ones to give you a little more force from the pedal.
