OK, here goes.
It was originally built in South Africa from a kit made by The Kit Car Company although the mouldings have labels on them saying Roamer Rand CC. I bought the car for a song after seeing it peeping out from under a tarpauline in a car park in Poole. I've had the car about 3 years and rebuilt it to the standard it is now. Its based on a 1970 Beetle but being built in SA it has KP&L front end and SA back end. It's running a 1641 with home ported heads, Kadrons and a standard bottom end. For a relatively standard Beetle its remarkably quick (100ish).
I've used it a couple of times for LM (hence the avatar) and plan to go again this year. Although not sure whether to do the main event or the classic. I've used it for track days at Castle Coombe, Gurston Down and Prescott

Lovely looking car, where abouts in Ringwood are you? My car's at my Dad's place nr Hightown at the moment.

Seems to be quite a few people from the historic market town on this forum!

Hot66, what are DDK's plans for the LM Classic? I was thinking of going Poole-Cherbourg on Thursday o/night, staying at MB and coming back Sunday o/night.

Luke, I live round the corner from your Dad in Parsonage Barn Lane. It does seem like Ringwood is the centre of the Porsche universe.
