Evening all,
I've searched for information and I'm getting conflicting suggestions.
Can anyone confirm the route the thick black starter cable takes front to back please?
Many thanks

Loz, you may need to state which year of 911, bet some are different! I guess it is your
70T?
Not sure if Gary71 removed his cable from his 72T, but he photographed each and every stage of his rebuild, so might give guidance.

Hi Graham,
Yes that's right. 70T I'll have a look on his thread.
Many thanks.

Can’t help but thinking about the run on my 73T
The rear route is easy, mine passes through steel hoops past the engine to the starter location.
It runs obviously through the trans tunnel and comes up to the under dash by the pedals, there may be a clip by the handbrake hole to get it away from the accelerator cable etc..
It then gets hard to remember ( this in 1988 in my case).
If you are re using the original cable it must have taken a set in shape tha will point the way across the twin batteries.
Best look at Gary’s thread!

Just had a trawl through the photos on my phone for something that might be useful!
So positive comes from the RH battery around behind the ARB behind the fuel tank, joins at the positive on the LH battery then from there through a hole tucked almost invisibly in the corner behind the tank .
Then across the back of the pedal box area and into the tunnel in the forward most hole behind the accelerator.
It feeds down inside an enclosed section of the tunnel on the RHS then out through the back

Not the best pic but you can work out which hole it exits through.
No pics past this point but from memory it’s held in the tabs and then to the starter
Hope that helps!
