DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

Evening all, I have tried researching the above and have managed to find threads on build numbers for most years apart from MY71. I believe Mike (210bhp) and Andy (Lightweight 911) are the experts so if you can help I’d greatly appreciate it. Porsche selling centre was South Africa, chassis number is 9111100407, engine number/ type is 6110724 / 911/03

Back in the mid '80's the PCGB was allowed access to the archives at AFN & Mark Waring & Richard Cole - then both involved with the Club's Early 911 Register - were the people who visited.

A list was then compiled of the numbers of RHD models imported for each year - broken down into T/E/S etc variants.

I got a copy of the list from Richard in ~ 1998 but unfortunately at some later stage the list was mislaid/lost (probably in a house move).

I didn't bother too much about it as I thought the information was retained by/freely available from the Club ...

It might be worth contacting Mark Waring (if Mike hasn't got the info) as I'm fairly sure he retained the information.

I do have some information about each year but I’m currently away from home. I’ll get back to you on here as soon as I can. Likely I only have total numbers of each variant T,E and S, no breakdown of colours etc which Mark certainly will have.

Many thanks chaps - Coincidently, I do have Mark’s number as our paths crossed over a pair of seats a few years ago - I’ll msg him.

Further to the above, according to the information I have, there were 64 RHD Porsche built 911T coupes and 9 Karmann built 911T coupes in model year 1971.

Many thanks for the info - are these UK/AFN supplied cars or would it include other rhd countries, as mine is from South Africa ?

I’m pretty sure these are UK car numbers but from what I’ve seen and read ROW RHD numbers are tiny and don’t forget that ‘some’ of the SA, Australia, NZ RHD examples were imported there from the UK long after they were built.
