Masking for black inside door

Hi All,

Finishing off some details on my 71S and have been told that whilst I painted the whole door in the outside colour (inside and out) that the section around the edge of the door card should be satin black so you dont see any colour from the inside. Now I know it is annoying me and I want to correct it ! :-)

Does anyone have any pictures of where to mask this? - mostly I can see it will follow the panel lines but what happens at the top by the window trim?

Cheers

Roger

Andy Lightweight is/has just done this on his early 911.

I painted mine in body colour, masked off the inside face so when painted no colour can be seen from the inside.
I doubt there is any exacting dimensions to follow, bet the factory then simply masked it off and painted.
I used Hammerite smooth satin black which works well on 2K paint.

Here is an original door. No masking required, painted with a brush at the factory,
