I agree that having a day meet up before another event is a good way of getting people to travel and making a weekend of it.

However seeing 100 ddk old Porsche cars on one day and then travelling the next day to see yet more Porsche cars parked up is of little interest to me these days....I've seen more Porsche cars in fields and on display in the last 20+ years than I care to remember. So CATC or Boxxen$hite don't have much appeal if I'm honest.

Why not try and link it something different that people may have not done before? Or another make or marque day?

SantaPod is always a brilliant day out if you get the weather (and its Northants so not 1million miles for most people) and every person I've taken there in last 20 years that had never been loved it.

Or there is the NSRA Super Nationals where you will get up to 1000 american cars in a day (I am a bit yank bias these days....)

Just think there must be more events we could link onto that are more interesting than more Porsche in a field or on a plinth?

Just my 2 cents....

Must admit I have the same view as Jason.
Hence going to Harewood hill climb suggested by Jonathan and Bicester site maybe tacking on to a Scramble there.
A VSCC event would be an eye opener.
Been a few years since I went to Santa Pod, was a devout regular in the 70s and a day there will attack all your senses.

We're all just relieved to hear the Bullworker removal went smoothly. I've got those comfort seats for the 993 you asked about.

Jason speaks for me and CatC clashes with Beaulieu Autojumble AND Angouleme Circuit des Ramparts, so i'm already clash grumpy......Santa Pod has appeal....W

I could be up for Santa Pod as well - it's only a couple of hours from Harwich afterall. Is MIA early Porsche fan Brizey B still doing shows there? He used to bagsy a 'good' bit of the campground for VZiers, and would maybe do the same for DDKers?

Brian Burrows lives in France and no longer organises shows - his last was last spring.

Tim- all above good - although for my 2c worth it would be better to “piggyback” somehow.
In reality to use the old adage “If you build it they will come!”
Don’t look at me though - already organising three major road trips and competing in three rallies - none in Ireland,

Going for 3rd time lucky?!

I’m happy to organise a get together and a bit of a drive out from Caffiene and Machine The Hill, pretty central to the country for everyone. Other cars there to see, good food available, some great roads nearby.

However, I’m a nobody and I’m sure others on here would be able to do something better. But if nobody else steps up and people would be willing to travel to there, then I will give it a go.

Happy to help if needed, let me know. Sounds like a good level for an intro annual do and see where it goes from there. I’m sure C&M will be interested in doing something, allocating space in their calendar or sitting us next to another regular event.

I had a Quick Look into a nice driving route from Caffiene & Machine to add something a bit more to it if we are able to have a DDK meet there, so it’s not just parked up and look at the cars. Thought a nice convoy of Porsches would be good, and the route I planned takes in going up the infamous Fish Hill…. If you haven’t in your Porsche you’ll want to!

Have a look at a proposed drive out here…
