Midlands Aircooled Swapmeet

Post by Spit Nolan »

After the massive, sell-out success of the first Midland’s Air-Cooled Swap Meet we’re excited to do all over again. Only this time in much larger venue.

The date for this year’s Swap Meet is Sunday 4th February 2024 and the new venue is the home of the world’s largest collection of historic British Cars, The British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Once again, we’re winding the clock back to the good old days of UK swap meets, where the main focus will be on quality new and used air-cooled Volkswagen and Porsche related items. Whether it’s NOS/genuine used parts you’re after, or quality new items, we want you to come away with everything you need for your beloved vehicle.
We had tremendous support last year and many of those traders from our first Swap Meet have already signed up again. We also have many more wishing trade too and if you’ve got a load of quality air-cooled parts you’re looking to sell, please get in touch and ask about a pitch. Just be quick! As they’re allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

The British Motor Museum is located in the heart of the Midlands, just a few minutes off junction 12 of the M40, so it’s within easy reach for all. The superb new venue is larger than the previous one and has its own dedicated entrance and extensive parking for your air-cooled vehicles.
Why not make a full day of it by coming along to the swap meet and then having a look around the amazing collection of classic British made metal?

We recommend buying your general admission tickets well in advance to avoid disappointment.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 4th February 2024.

Visit www.midlandsaircooledswapmeet.com for more info

EDIT:
Just to point out, all tables are fully booked with both traders and private sales so will be plenty there to see and buy.

We are hoping to have an area outside for people who want to pull up and sell from their car available next year, however as it is the first time at this venue we can’t do that this year! People are welcome to sell from their cars as long as everything remains in the car to display and not put outside or by the car. But be aware the carpark is huge!!

If you have parts to sell and unfortunately missed out on a table please advertise them as you will take them there by all means but the buyer will have to meet you at your vehicle.

The fact it’s sold out for tables should be a good sign of plenty to get hold of
:)

That’s strange, you are right, clicking it doesn’t work, but typing the address in I go straight to the page. How odd.

The Facebook page may be better

Does this tend to be strictly aircooled vw stuff. My lad is restoring a mk2 Golf and is looking for a few parts.

Cheers

It is an aircooled event, there may be a few water cooled bits sneaking through though I’m sure.

There were plenty of photos on Facebook and Instagram from last year. Here are a couple from inside the hall last year (much bigger location this year).

I won’t lie last year was predominantly VW parts but there was quite a lot of Porsche bits too. I know I cleared some of mine there. We’re hoping next year to get more of the Porsche traders involved too, I know a couple who will be there this year.

It’s only year two of the event so hoping there will be plenty of growth in the future. Main thing is it is based on parts, none of the tea towel sales etc that seem to take over many events.

We hope you can join us :)

As mentioned next year the plan is to have an outdoor area too so can be even bigger, so more opportunity to get booked in for a stall for those wanting to sell.

If it helps, the event was mostly vw last time but I picked up a 1970 air box and snorkel in excellent condition, a front bumper with S trim, some light lenses and wing mirrors, a green rear windscreen with heater element (by prior arrangement) and there was quite a bit of other stuff. There were fuchs, and some decent seats. I think someone putting a car together would probably find something useful.

That said, it was the first one after covid and there was a lot of pent up supply and demand.

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.
