NOW SOLD - 911 T 1971 2.2 litre for sale

Post by veryporky »

NOW SOLD

Original unmolested California car imported into UK during the early noughties. Bought as an exceptionally straight, rot free, and unwelded example 17 years ago and only selling now as paint is showing its age. Have covered around 10,000 miles since whilst ensuring it is always garaged and never driven in the salt during that time. Email from the factory confirms car is in exactly the same specification as when it left the factory and that includes the matching numbers engine, burgundy paint, 5 speed gearbox.

Had it resprayed around 16 years ago but now the paint is blistering and have lost interest in the car due to being reluctant to go through the whole process again which is why it is now up for sale. However mechanically the car is in exceptional order. Oil pressure is superb and oil consumption is minimal.

The carbs have just been rebuilt by Mass Racing Engines and the car runs very smoothly. Apart from having the more desirable Weber IDAs, the car has SSI stainless heat exchangers and the hydraulic chain tensioner reliability mod.

The car comes with a massive history file that goes back in excess of 40 years with many invoices from 911 specialists in California and the UK.

The deep six Fuchs wheels are in nice condition with good tyres. The dust caps for the centres are in the boot. The brightwork is in good order as much of this was replaced when the car was last painted.

The headliner is clean and unmarked and the carpets are good. However the velour in the centre of the seats is torn and some other interior fittings are a little tired which is typical of a California sourced car.

The car comes with its original US spec handbook, toolkit, and sales brochure.

The car drives well and is ready for immediate use. It would be very simple to strip the trim off and get it painted over the winter and have a very fine example ready for use in the spring.

The car is sold as seen, as is, where is, a private sale hence no warranties are implied or given.

You are welcome to view and jack it up to see how straight and rot free it is.

Selling for a friend who is non technical and is a somewhat private person who does not want the foot fall. I have stored the vehicle for him since 2010 and have carried out minor works to the car over that period most recent work being the removal and overhaul of the webers.

£46,500 PM me if you are interested
