As pointed out to me by somebody on here yesterday my old Martin and Walker Speedster Replica is up for sale.

Now when I owned it some 20 odd years ago it looked like this

And now.....

I have to say that does look nice. The Speedmaster wheels really suit the styling. Hopefully the new owner will be better looking than the earlier one, too.

Yes, they've done a good job (you cheeky scamp)

Before it was pointed out to me I had seen the advert and thought the engine looked familiar

Have some great memories of that car. My best mate of 30+ years and fellow hill climber David Hilton built it in his Gran’s garage from one of Barrie’s early shells. We put the type 4 engine in it and got it running on his 30th birthday (we took the day off) then retired to the pub…..A few days later we laid down the cars first ‘elevens’….

David then sold it to Andy Palmer (Clubsport32 on here) who did a bunch of work including the flat fan before selling to Thomas.

The price looks a bit toppy to me but it does look very, very nice….The fact that Thomas owned must add a couple of bags to the price at least!

Crumbs. Just clicked the link. Nearly £60k. Was thinking it’d be more like £40k.

It looked tasteful and genuine in its original guise…
Looks like a cheap (even if it isn’t!) replica now!

IMHO, looks great in current silver, suits the 356 well, and those wheels are just fabulous.

Bootsy didn’t know you had a M&W speedster as I did also.
Was told mine was one of 2 for the Paris to Agadir Rally.
Wonder if they were a match?

I think the lack of bumpers don't work, along with the fogs. Makes it actually look more like a kit car, that someone has thrown all the outlaw repro stuff onto.

Top dollar too, mmmmmm.
