Front undertray rhd

I have never seen one of these for sale but does anyone know where I can get a front undertray, the part under the steering rack, for a RHD 65. LHD seem available but not a right.

I presume you've seen this (it doesn't say LHD or RHD ... but probably LHD). Does it actually matter ? (I have both LHD and RHD cars ... )

There’s a great aftermarket full length one on impact bumpers sometime available.
Guy makes them fits to front suspension mount and rear tray, not expensive.

I’ve got a spare one but for a later car (‘79 SC) and assume they are probably different. Can anyone confirm?

My guess is that LHD and RHD covers are the same - its the same steering rack, in the same position. I think the only difference between LHD and RHD front suspension/steering might be just the UJ's on the steering rod.

They are handed, I had a lhd years a go but it was too rusty to convert. I thought I would just buy a new one but I have been looking now since 1987 when I got the car but I have never seen one for sale.

I rebuilt my lid 911 73T in 1988.
Parts were scarce then, and my under tray was missing.
Made my own from simple sheet steel.
Only people to see this is me and the MoT tester…
Took a few hours, hand painted and still on the car today.

You have to buy buy buy.

Buy the lhd part from design 911 any reputable early 911 metal guy will be able to modify it to rhd for you. John at chestertons did m8ne for 90 quid

Hi, 1965 RHD cars had a very different pan. Sheet metal construction and very particular to the early RHD cars. They were not really set up for he production line at that time. See the difference here from my restoration thread started 2012. Three quarters down the page.

The early LHD cars were not dissimilar sheet metal types but there were three different designs in the first three years if I remember correctly - a dig in Early 911S Registry information will help.
What is your VIN?

Very interesting. Am I right in thinking that must be the first 66 MY RHD car and one of the first six UK imported RHDs. Definitely would have had the 'sheet tin' type undertray. I notice it is not on the 64 65 66 spreadsheet.

Fwiw, I believe Richard's car is one of the last 1965 MY cars, along with 302029 and 302030

I have an original 65 RHD under tray if reference needed to copy. The LHD replacements convert really well, it's the brake master cylinder which is obviously on the opposite side needs accounting for when modifying.
