I’m just not sure what to think of this one !!!

‘How do you end up with a Porsche that is the only one in existence? Well, you make dear friends with a master mechanic, nudge, cajole and extort them to sell it to you for 8 years, and they finally relent! This car is unique, nay, incomparable: the engine of 965 3.6 Turbo (M64.50) Note it's the 3.6 that Porsche only made for 8 months, and then this was all put in the remodelled body of a 996. Of course, you will be looking at it thinking 'buy why would one do that?' The answer: to make something no one else in the universe has. The engine alone is worth the asking price, so few of them being around (let alone working) but the entire rest of the car has been specialised: 1973 911 chassis modified to accommodate a 964 turbo engine M64/50 turbo with the correct G 50/52 5 speed manual gearbox and engine management ECU. 930 Turbo instruments with VDO boost gage on the right 930 turbo front and rear brakes, 964 RS hardback seats, 993 turbo intercooler, 930 turbo front and rear suspension. 996 turbo-twist wheels...996 Turbo xenon head lamps and front bumper/lower spoiler. 996 turbo rear bumper, RUF rear down force wing, to name but a few. This is obviously for extreme enthusiasts only. Will consider trade from something rare and exciting or similar or higher value. Next MOT due 04/10/2022, Black, £75,000’

Wow a 1973 air cooled 996 turbo!

I wonder what the VIN is.

Hard to believe that someone would do such a thing, and harder still to imagine that someone might buy it to use it. A parts car?

.
Many people build/convert cars into something 'different' - & Porsches are no exception.

If you had a rusty '73 911 with knackered mechanics & had always lusted after a 996 Turbo ...

It’s absolutely horrendous.. I cannot see any redeeming features about this one.. what the thought process was god only knows.

I suspect they had the salvaged 993 turbo motor, decided to put it in an early body for a Singer style hot rod, then part way through realised they needed the 996 panels to accommodate the turbo, intercoolers, cooling, transmission and running gear.

Lightweight space foil rear seats?

How would you even get the '73 floors and underside to join with the 996 cills, front pan etc? Would love to see underneath!

I suspect the only connection between the two halves is a piece of paper called the V5c...
