Painting a car

Post by leedurrant73 »

Hello,

Does anyone know how many coats of paint a restored car normally have?

Thought I would ask as I’m almost ready to have it painted.

Thanks

Follow Gary for a top class finish. Having seen his car, the paint is outstanding.

I had mine painted locally in 2K non metallic, 2 coats 4 years ago, £1500 inc everything, so it did not get coat after coat etc!

I would have a word with Darren. He’s prepared and painted some wonderful cars.
Glasurit single stage is what I used on the targa and with the right matching base coats, thinners etc and the finish is beyond my expectations.

Regards
Mike

^^ That's a good idea.
Certainly more paint does not equal better finish.
