Thanks Bootsy,

The Site was originally put together by Paul and an Ex employee over two long afternoons in the Pub with a laptop
However, it always pays to stay on good terms with people and Mat came back to help Paul sort it all out on Saturday

Now, I need to go on some sort of course - to try and understand what makes these things tick

Is it possible to protect yourself from these idiots ?

Have a tested working backup at all times, and know how to restore it.
Keep your cms up to date.
Or use a professional third party to manage it.

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

Yes, keeping your site up to date is essential.
Your site is built on the Wordpress platform with a WooCommerce plug facilitating the shop.
It also relies on multiple plug ins for various other bits of functionality e.g Yoast for SEO, Elementor for content and layout and many many others.
All ok but you need to keep the WP version and the plug ins up to date.
New versions are released usually due to a compromise / data security issues and the new versions looks to plug the vulnerability.
Hackers are relentless and automated and keeping them at arms length is getting harder and harder unfortunately.

I definitely know what all this means and was going to say the same thing.
