Rear wheel bearings

Hi, can the inner and outer rear wheel bearings be replaced with hubs / rear arms saying fitted to the car ? Are special tools required ? Any advice appreciated

The rear arms can stay in the car. No special tools other than a torque wrench to do up the hub nut. Make sure you install the spacer tube in between the bearings. If the outer bearing is loose in the housing you may need tome bearing lock. Oh and don’t forget to install the O ring on the bearing plate. A couple of hours work

And you should replace the drive shaft bolts and schnor washers as they are really a one use only.

Not sure if swb are the same as lwb? but on lwb the bearings are pressed in so you need some sort of puller to get the old bearing out and the reverse to get the new bearing back in.
I made a puller at work which popped the old one out relatively easily, getting the new one back in proved more tricky. The usual method is to stick the new bearing in the freezer for a day to shrink it before install, unfortunately when I pulled mine out of the freezer and tried to push it in place it got jammed at a slight angle and wouldn't budge. I ended up winding it in with a home made press but the bearing wasn't happy afterwards so had to do the whole procedure again.
Take your time and cross your fingers and you should be OK.

They are not the same at all, (wish they were as they are very expensive compared to the LWB bearings). They are two separate bearings and a spacer.

Would be good to know how you get on and any info on tools you make as I’ve just started looking into doing mine, when the sun stops shining.

Yes will give an update when I do the rear bearings. Just finished replacing the front wheel bearings, shock absorbers and brake hoses / lines today. All fairing straight forward except for trying to get the right dampers, looks like the wrong ones had been installed at some stage, boge one side, Koni the other. Three trips to design911 ( I’m local) and the right shocks sorted.
Front bearings relatively straightforward- have outer race in the freezer and applied heat to the hub, right size socket and went in OK
