914 JRZ 4914

Post by kitchens »

Guys
Have been looking at a 914 up here in Glasgow which was previously owned by a John Jackson in Bushey for several years and he spent £££££££££££££££££ on it the last big work ran in £12k previously it was owned by a John Warwick in Kenilworth I found a membership DDK card 341 so an early member.
I had never driven a 914 before and being LHD and a dog leg gearbox took some getting used to and no great creature comforts coming from a modern Porsche .I believe the last owner passed away and it was sold by a relative of his estate. It is yellow 74 model so impact bumpers had non Fuche wheels .It was refurbed by a company ARL in Rickmans worth back in sept 2017 chassic 4752900357 it is on approx. 90K miles but 11 owners .Any DDK people out there that know the car .
Thanks
Brian

Thanks for all the info people have posted very informative ..I have decided not to proceed as after the short drive I found it a bit to raw for my 78 yrs and if honest to used to modern cars with all their comforts .

You might want to say where it is for for sale in Glasgow, as others on this site may be interested in it?

Any sale links?

I can not find a for sale advert on the usual classified sites, but the seller did put a post on the UK 914 Facebook page last week asking anyone interested to get in touch directly for more details

Hi everyone, I posted in the new member section, but also posting here as I'm the new owner of JRZ4914. I've always had an itch for a 914 and finally managed to scratch it a couple of weeks ago. What can I say, she's a fantastic car and only needs a few minor job's done which ill do over the winter as I'm having too much fun driving her just now, that is, once I get the hang of the gear change  it would be great if any of the previous owners are still on here, or if anybody has any information about her, it would be much appreciated. She did come with loads of history of previous work done, mot's, tax discs, owners manual, restoration guides etc etc, but it would be great to piece together her history, cheers Colin
