Hi

There doesn't seem to be any early 356 rod bearings available, what do you do if you want to put new bearings in A rods (tab on the left)? Obviously I could buy C/912 rods but that's quite a lot of money!

Any tips greatly received.

They have not been manufactured for many years

None available at PRS ? (Paul will not be in the shop until Monday - Santa Pod)

You do not say what size you are searching for ?

Thanks Mike, I need 1st under 0.25. I’m considering changing to C rods now if I can get a reasonably priced set.

Porsche sourced their rods from 5 or 6 Manufacturers - they vary in design
Then the Little Ends need Checking (or new bushes and honing)
Big ends need Checking for Ovality and No looseness of fit
After you have sorted what you think is a nice set - they need Match weighing
Having done all that - there is no way of telling if they have been over torqued at some point in their life
By the time all that has been carried out they are no longer cheap and it makes more sense to buy Carrillo and be 100% sure
The only problem with Carrillo is that you have to measure the Bolt stretch not the torque – now you have to buy the tool to do that
`No One said it would be easy`

But that stretch tool is not expensive!
Carrillo rods are just fabulous things, and have real quality rod bolts fitted
Well worth it in my experience.
