Italian '70S Conda green

Looks like another honest example (similar to the tangerine E discussed here a few months ago).
But, the respray job has been done terribly.

What is the meaning of the second number on the VIN?

It’s a factory prototype 2.7 claiming to be a development car for the 73RS. It’s actually a 1972 2.4 (see the engine number). Neither the engine number nor the chassis number match up to a 73RS. The extra number I think is an internal factory number but I could be wrong. There were a few development cars used in this way and this one was painted a unique fluorescent yellow as a prototype RS colour (along with a very bright orange car) to try to set the RS apart from the rest of the line up. All fluorescent
Colours were banned as they were reserved for emergency vehicles so the development department had to have a rethink.
I think this car has extensive factory documentation and I believe has only had one or two owners since the factory let it go.

Regards
Mike
