Valve cover gaskets

Post by hot66 »

What year did the vlave cover gasket change on 911's '67 or 68?

I'm trying to find out if my 901/06 engine in the '67 takes the later or earlier style rocker cover gaskets

Thanks :)

As far as I remember, the change to magnesium valve covers was made at the start of the '68 model year - easiest way to check is to see if your lower valve covers have 6 (early) or 10 (later) retaining studs/nuts.

The earlier lower covers were also horizontally 'ribbed'.

Thanks Andy

I must be having a bit of a 'blonde' moment. I should have thought to count the studs :)
