RHD Wing Mirror Tenplate

Post by leedurrant73 »

Hello,

Is there anyone kind enough out there to send me a template showing the hole position of the durrant mirror on the drivers side door?

Mine is in the wrong position?

Happy to pay.

Thanks Lee

.

I've never owned a RHD 911 so don't know if the same applies but on a LHD car there are 2 stamped out holes on the inside of the door shell which give access to the mirror mounting nuts - so the mirror mounting holes would be in line with the centres of those (if that makes sense !).

Hi Leedurrant73,

If I understood correctly, do you need to know exactly where the holes are located on the door?
So if you have a RHD, it means that it will be the measurements for my LHD. (Take it with a bit of salt, since I am not sure if these are done to spec)
So it will be as follows,

b1.jpg
The photos are not the best, but I hope it helps.
If you need more details, let me know.

As someone else mentioned, the mirror holes line up with the larger holes in the door frame. Also, if you are fitting an original large round Durant mirror, the hole spacing is not critical because the front bolt is on a rail and moves a good 10 mm. Not sure if the same applies to the rectangular mirrors...

I plan on using a large penny washers on the inside so that the mirror is supported by both the door skin and the door frame together (not sure if that is standard, but I think it makes sense)...
