Hi Winston. We converted a ‘74 Beetle 1200 to IRS recently. It’s still here if you want to come and see it. We have a jig to position the trailing arm mounts before cutting & welding.

The Australian designed & built Country Buggy had reduction boxes. They also built them in Malaysia or Philippines

My obtuse brain likes the idea of a freeway flyer CW&P in a swing axle car with splitty reduction boxes, and trekker type spindles at the front....but it's still dreams
