Is it possible to buy the '69-'78 door window frame threaded press inserts ?
I can't seem to find a part number or where to buy them aftermarket.
These are the externally knurled, internal threaded steel nuts that press into the aluminium door frames so the various parts can be bolted together.
Cheers
Andrew

Don't think so. They are a splined outer that is pressed into the aluminium frame. A Rivnut normally relies on passing through a panel so it can be crushed back onto it.
If you know of some 'rivnuts' that don't reply on this normal 'rivit' mechanism to hold them in place and simply press in on the splines then that is exactly what is needed.

Can't see how these would work as they need to sit flush in the frame hole on both sides. The frame junction is on one side and the main window seal are on the other. It can't protrude at all from the shallow hole in the frame, so can't see how you can use any type of rivnut which will have a large bulge on one side.
