Black center speedometer

Post by Warren914 »

My '75 has a 150mph speedometer. I'd like to replace it with a 0-200km/h speedometer without the chrome center. This side of the Atlantic it seems all late speedometers are 150mph. The Canadian market is greatly influenced by the USA and anything Metric wasn't introduced until late '70s. Did Europe offer metric speedometers in late model cars? Am I searching for something that doesn't exist?

I have one of these which is surplus to requirements as swapping to a MPH one.
I can send you some pics if you PM me.

Assuming it's the same as a 911 Speedo, looks the same.

911 speedometers are the same as the contemporary 914/6 unit, but aren't a straight swap into a 914/4 due to the different gearing. They'll fit and look OK but will need to be recalibrated to read correctly.

^ If you run one of our CDI+ ignition boxes, you can use the tacho calibration feature to operate a 6 cylinder tacho on 4 cylinder or vice-versa.
