Midlands Aircooled Swapmeet 2023 Sunday 5th Feb

Post by Spit Nolan »

This Sunday is the new Midlands Aircooled Swapmeet in Redditch.

Trader plots sold out almost instantly, and it’s very specifically a Swapmeet based on the ways of the old days, lots of parts without all the slightly aircooled related tat stalls!!

Lots of VW and Porsche stuff on sale and a carpark show and shine too.

Right in the middle of the country with easy access from Junction 2 of the M42.

A good chunk of our traders are people who don’t normally sell at swap meets, mainly because they are too busy building VWs and Porches for themselves or their customers. As a result of this, the parts they’ll have for sale haven’t travelled around the country at other events in the hope of finding a new home, these are ‘fresh to the market’ parts accumulated from many years of working on air-cooled motors.

Do them a favour and save these parts from being stashed away again from the world by buying whilst you can, you might find that elusive part you’ve been hunting for…

Midlands Air-Cooled Swap Meet info…

THIS COMING SUNDAY!

It is taking place at the Abbey Stadium in Redditch, Worcestershire (B97 6EJ) from 10am - 3pm on 5th February 2023.

The Midlands Air-Cooled Swap Meet will be packed full with over 50 traders selling NOS, new and used parts and accessories for your VW or Porsche.

At only £5 per person (under 16s free when accompanied by a full paying adult), it’s a cheap day out for all to buy the must have parts for your vehicle. Advance tickets can be purchased from midlandsaircooledswapmeet.com (link in bio) or you can also pay on the day and it is cash only please.

See you all there.

Hope to see a few of you there!

I'll be in my v5 new beetle. The 375 mile round trip in my '12 with no heating at this time of year might finish me off!

.

Went there just after 10am but misunderstood the event - was expecting it to be outdoors !

I don't know if the organisers underestimated how many people would attend but even at ~10.15am the hall was packed solid - which made it very difficult to see many of the parts on offer ...

Got there just after 10 also with fellow DDK'r FCD John. Left about 2.00pm.
Lots of cars parked up already.
Queued to get in and the Hall was far too small for the population, super crowded.
The hall could have been 4 x larger and it would have been busy.
I thought it almost dangerously overcrowded, but a very enjoyable visit.

Lots of nice looking VW parts, lots being bought too, and some choice 911 parts if you looked hard, pair of early 911 RHD headlamps with good chrome rims, £400; box of bilstien sport dampers with propper front struts and all torsion bars, no oil leaks but dirty, £450.

Well worth the short drive to see and to catch up with John.

This VW outside was fabulous:

And of course the star 911!

Thank you for coming guys! I was on the door most of the day letting people in. It felt awful having to say to people they couldn’t go in yet. We definitely did not expect this many people to turn up, was a huge success but yes over crowded! We had to stop people going in due to fire regulations. I think everyone I spoke to on the door seemed ok with the wait and understood.

Next time will be somewhere bigger, but as a first ever event think it was a success!!

Oh and assume you mean Si’s lovely brown one as my Scruffy B*stard is a twelve

Great event, some great deals on parts to be had... definitelty needs a bigger venue. Organisers did not realise how popular it would be and where somewhat blown away by the turnout!
