Good estimates Rob, competition cars are tricky and how good they may be in their class is a factor as most want to buy and win.
This car is a 5 times class winner in its Championship, but I think it's value is in the drive train.
The chassi could swallow a much more powerful and certainly lighter drive train and be faster esp with a more committed driver.
It is now insured against theft etc for £50k.

If its agreed value you might as well go for a higher figure ie... what would it cost to build the same car again today... I'm no expert but it fees like you could easily see £30k in the engine alone, £10-15k for the gearbox... wheels, brakes and tyres ??? Plus the value of the chassis and shell... feels like its nudging up to £75-100k.

I'd have a chat with your insurer to see the effect of the increased agreed value on the premium, you may be pleasantly suprised.

I take your point, and guessing the cost to replace the car as close as possible would take you that figure.
Not sure where to stop with the calculations when the car is a true one off from front to back.
I'll review it all again next year.
I've had it at 25k for 10 years, now £50k.
The basic car cost me about £15k and all the rest about40k over the years and that has no man hours in it other than two specialists, and their time was about 4K tops.
Remember, this Insurance is theft from wherever, fire wherever, damage wherever.
As long as the engine is not running it is covered.

It is not covered when moving on a track.
The price also covers my Brian James trailer under the same circumstances.

It is all at the greatest risk being towed to or from an event to away from home.
