Hi All

I'm trying to fit a replacement fuel pump to my non standard 911E (with original fuel injection.)

The fuel pumps have three pipes on them (as opposed to a simple in and out) how do I identify the three pipes? ( I cant find a diagram anywhere)

also the new pump has one pipe that is bigger whereas on the old one they were all the same .... whats that all about?

My problem is I hookedup the pipes in the same positions and its doesnt seem to be working . ...... so I want to check I have them in the correct positions.

Also I just read you have to be carefull not to run them empty .... I really need to swap teh pipes and check I have flow etc .... is it bad news to get it wrong for a few seconds?

Advice appreciated

thanks in adavance

Dom

Ok
ill answer my own question
(A result of trial and error)
The middle pipe is the main outlet pipe that heads off to the engine bay.
The bigger of the three pipes is the inlet from the fuel tank
and the remaining oulet (a small one opposite the big one) needs to be connected to the pipework with the 'Y' branch on it ..... one pipe heads into the fuel tank the other heads off towards the engine bay.
(This last one is the return pipe.)

It now runs again

This might help:

The larger diameter hose (9mm) connects to the tank (no.17 in the above diagram)
