ENCLOSED CAR TRANSPORT

Post by 914-6 »

Hi All
can anyone recommend a reasonably priced reliable company to take a car from Hampshire to Yorkshire with an enclosed trailer/truck ?
I didn't appreciate how much the cost has risen recently.

many thanks

Have you got breakdown cover? You could pretend it's broken down then have it recovered to the requisite destination

Disclaimer: suggestion for comedic purposes only. May result in prosecution for insurance fraud. Recovery transport may not be enclosed

You might try Andy Walker at PSI Tuning - they have covered transport, although it doesn't mention it on their website.

Interestingly, I might need it from Sheffield Yorkshire to near Coventry next week if my painter doesn't come up with his own solution...

.

If you're not restricted to a specific day/time, I'd put the details into Shiply & wait for the quotes to roll in ...

I think you can specify covered transport & you can check out their feedback & what types of vehicles they've previously moved.

I've had positive experiences on numerous occasions at very competitive prices.

Shiply have been funny for me - either hundreds of emails saying 'I can be at your door in ten minutes, let me know', or as yesterday, two quotes that seemed extortionate and no other interest.

I guess you've tried Mel Spear, he's got a damaged shoulder at the moment, but he may know someone else who could?

Or you could try Spud - Adrian Rowlands. Will send you his number if you don’t have it

I just used Classic & Sports Car Transport Ltd, Leicester. I think they might have other locations...

They were excellent to deal with, and excellent on the day at both ends (helped me push it into the garage). As you can see, the car looked tiny inside that huge trailer! Cost me 190+VAT from Sheffield to Nuneaton, which is much less than I was expecting :bom:
