DDK & Z-club breakfast meet at The Motorist - 14th May

Post by hot66 »

Me and a good friend are having a combined DDK & Z-Club ( Datson 240Z) breakfast & coffee meet at The Motorist NOW ON SUNDAY 14TH MAY ( orginally Saturday the 13th May )

UPDATE : Now Sunday 14th May due to an event clash & us being bumped !

We have a total of 30 spaces reserved at the Sunday Cars & Coffee ... of course there is loads more space at the site so we are not actually limited

He's got about 10 Datsun 240Z's interested so I thought Id see how many we can pull together. It will be just a casual kind of thing, turn up in , have a butty & a coffee, look & talk cars etc . Free to arrive & leave when you want to but ideally all arrive similarish time but thats not a requirement. Saturdays tend to be their quieter day on the weekend but they will still have interesting stuff coming and going . We should be able to put on a good show of cars , especailly as fans of early Porsches & Z's seem to overlap

The Motorist have said they're more than happy to host us as part of their usual day but with an area kept apart for us all.

If you dont know what or where the Motorist is , its a purpose built car hub consisting of a restaurant, cafe, workshops etc not far from the A1 between Leeds & Selby. Its a stunning facility for petrol heads with loads of parking. Some sunday cars and coffee meets can attract over 1000 cars . Very partner / wife / girlfriend friendly too . If you want posh, sit down breakfasts have to be booked in advance as it gets busy in the restaurant.

Count me in, I will put it in the diary. Would be good to meet somewhere and drive in together taking some back roads? Maybe Wetherby Service for ease? If you are happy to have some waterpumpers I can always throw it out to my Porsche group (Yorkshire TIPEC)

lets keep it aircooled only, its like herding cats anyway. I was speaking with Dean Lancashire before Christmas he's coming on a TIPEC trip i've organised to do the Jim Clark Trail. He was telling me about a DDk trip you organised a few years ago based at the CB Inn. Sounded fun! Cheers.

Pre family check I am in James as it doesn’t clash with any racing for me.

I have slipped it onto the calendar!

Amazingly no clash with a hillclimb, that's a first!

Hope to be there wife or solo. 220 mile round trip.
