DDK Supporters 2023 - a big thank you....

Post by Bootsy »

Happy New Year to everybody on DDK.

I read this today which rang true for me and maybe a few others....

'if 2023 isn’t feeling good to you yet then that’s fine. it’s the middle of winter and you’re tired. you’ve fallen out of a routine over Christmas & you need longer to find your feet again.'

Anyway, enough of the self help!

The banners at the top of page advertise DDK's supporters. Their contribution helps towards the smooth running of the forum.

On this thread I will be posting those who have pledged their support for 2023

Have a click on the links provided, get to know them and a big thank you from me for their continued or newly announced support.

And thanks as always to Greatworth Classics - Angus and his talented team have not only been long term supporters but also have kindly organised and hosted the DDK Swapmeet for the 3rd time in 2022 - they even managed to get the rain again for a few hours!

With our large, modern workshops located in the UK’s classic car industry heart, we sell, service and restore many types of classic cars. We specialise in the earlier air-cooled Porsche, due to our distinguished history and proven track-record with major air-cooled brands.

We offer a full one-stop shop for all aspects of high-quality restoration, upgrades, repairs and servicing. We have our own in-house paint-shop and employ a full-time staff of eight highly trained, professional mechanics and fabricators. We also have a number of part-time specialists in the lost-arts of traditional mechanical skills and we have specialist tools, equipment and spares.

and today's valued supporters.....

http://revival-cars.com

Max and his team at Revival cars have been long time DDK Supporters and 912 Specialists for many a year.

In their own words...

Home of the 912

Revival Cars, specialists in all things ’12. Four pots good, six pots bad! We’re not quite that bad, but here at Revival we are truly passionate about the 912.

Established in 1999 by commercial pilot and classic Porsche enthusiast Max Levell, Revival has been at the forefront of 912 servicing & sales since its inception.

Sparked by the purchase of his first 912 in 1997, a general interest in all things classic Porsche rapidly became a specialist interest in all things 912 – Two wings made may for four wheels, pressed steel of course, and the rest as they say is history.

Over the years we’ve learnt a lot about the model, its unique and qwerky design features, even its heater. And whilst the humble ’12 remains comparatively unknown, recent years have also seen a change of fortune for the model – A gentle but relentless transition from underdog to cult classic with a fanbase to match.

Today Revival occupies two workshops opposite London Heathrow airport terminal 5.

and a couple more to thank today....

https://www.prs356.co.uk

Another set up you can't help hearing great things about especially when it comes to the Porsche 356.

Easier to let Mike and Paul tell you their ethos.....

"Design engineer Professor Dr. Ing. h.c. Ferdinand Porsche built each 356 from the inside out, every nut, bolt and screw was engineered to ensure that each car had the capacity to run to perfection. We’re dedicated to continuing this ethos and we aim to ensure every car that leaves our workshop is running the way Dr Porsche intended.

We’re fanatical drivers too and are a committed part of the Porsche community. Over the years we’ve developed close associations with our fellow knowledgeable enthusiasts and become experts in our field.

Should you come to us with an unusual problem that we’ve not seen before, we’re more than happy to work as fellow contemporaries with your preferred specialist.

As you can see from our website, we’re incredibly passionate about the Porsche 356, whether it be as a whole or the simplest nut or bolt. We’ve developed a wide network of contacts and are able to source those hard to find Porsche parts that other suppliers can’t. And without bragging, we’re proud to have the largest stock of 356 parts in the country!

We manufacture over 100 parts unique to P R Services here in the UK. If you think you can find better quality parts at a cheaper price this may not be the case! We also hold thousands of good used parts in stock and have the rarest of the rare. We are always worth getting in touch with.

So if you have problem, need a spare part or just want to ask us a question, don’t hesitate to contact us for more info!

Mike and Paul Smith."

Thanks guys.

BORN FROM OBSESSION

The story of Paul Stephens (the brand) is really the story of Paul Stephens (the individual). It’s a story of passion, determination and obsession, a story that any successful person can appreciate. His obsession for competing and winning, and an unfailing desire to only offer his customers the best, have shaped a business with a deserved reputation for unwavering quality. From its focused beginnings as a specialist car company, Paul Stephens has grown into a respected brand designed for those who live their lives at the same pace as the man himself.

Paul Stephens has petrol in his veins and the 911 in his heart. Having learnt to drive at the age of six, he had his first drive in a 911 at nine, reaching 100mph on a disused airfield. By 21 he had acquired his first 911, a 2.4E, which is a version he still owns today. Paul started his own business nearly 25 years ago, specialising in sportscars and in particular Porsche - a business fuelled by a passion and enthusiasm for cars.

HISTORIC RACING

Paul Stephens learned to drive at the age of six, had his first accident at the age of seven, and clocked his first 100mph run, in a 911, when he was just nine! He went on to race in Caterham, Marcos, Chevron and 911s winning two championships along with several class and overall race wins, before retiring from racing (so he thought) in 2003.

A decade later, he returned to the track at the Spa Classic in a 911ST, finishing third in class, competed in the Silverstone 24 Hours in 2015, again finishing third in class and competed in the Le Mans Classic in 2016, finishing twenty third overall and the third 911 home in Plateau 4.

The Cars

Paul Stephens swiftly gained a reputation for not only the quality of cars he offered for sale, but also the customer service and knowledge of the marque. Not unsurprisingly, it was Paul’s unrivalled understanding of the 911 series and its derivatives that really cemented this reputation and saw the company become the place to go for anything and everything 911. His experience is now held in very high regard.

The Art

In 2002, Paul began to develop his real vision, Paul Stephens AutoArt - a collection of bespoke-built cars, based on the Porsche 911, that feature classic style with modern features and performance. Officially launched at Brands Hatch in 2005, only a few examples are lovingly created each year. The customer engagement, design and build are all overseen by Paul himself in line with his high standards of quality and attention to detail.

The Brand

Paul Stephens bring the same level of passion, commitment and quest for perfection to everything they do and this has allowed the company to develop into what it is today - a respected brand that strikes a chord with anyone who shares Paul’s dedication to success. From our bespoke builds, through selected original model sales to our high-end design collections, a consistent energy underlines all that we do.

Phil and his team at Tech9

Image

https://www.tech-9.co.uk

All about Tech 9!

I’m the managing director of Tech 9 and a passionate driver of Porsche vehicles.

I’ve spent over 20 years working with Porsche vehicles, both behind the wheel, as a race team manager and director of this business. There’s nothing better than the feeling of driving one of these cars, and our workshop’s team aim to perfect that experience.

Tech 9 is one of the leading independent Porsche specialists and as such we’ve been featured by publications including Car Magazine, Total 911, Ohlins, Top Gear, Autosport, Aston Martin Racing and 911 & Porsche World Magazine.

Our Story

Since 1993, Tech 9 have been preparing various race cars in their Liverpool workshop to incredible degrees of success. We had huge triumphs in the early ’90s with the Porsche Cup, a primarily production-based race for which we prepared a number of Porsche models including the 944S2 and Turbo, 968 and 911 models 964 and 993, and we’ve even explored other marques.

In the late nineties, we wanted to break into GT racing – and the pinnacle of this type of racing was the TVR Tuscan Challenge. Cars were a huge 460bhp, weighed 860kg and saw some of the UK’s best drivers competing. 1997 was a year for learning, and then in 1998 we secured our Championship win! From our base in Liverpool, we engineered the car to the front of the grid with dedication and determination, even developing our own suspension dampers and limited-slip differential to give us the edge over the competition.

The turn of the Millenium saw us break into British GT, and our campaigns with Porsche in 993 GT2’s and Marcos gave us a new experience in endurance racing. We netted second place overall in the 2002 Carrera Cup GB with our 996 GT3, but the really good run started in 2003. With backing from our corporate sponsors, we embarked upon an impressive five year run in GT racing, during which we got Championship and class wins in 2003, 2004 and 2005 in British GT before going on to the newly-formed FIA FT3 European Championship in 2006 with our squad of three 997 GT3 Cup machines. As you might guess, we’ve brought plenty of trophies back to Liverpool.

Thanks to decades of hard work, our team can bring a wealth of experience and expertise to each and every job they complete. Our complete Porsche servicing can bring any model up to the level that it should be, we can also complete custom performance tuning, as well as complete engine and gearbox rebuilds, to truly change the way you experience your car. Our restoration service transforms Porsches of all ages into true classics, and we can also offer a complete bespoke design and build service.

Our Store

We see a market filled with substandard products, nominal difference in price and service, and a general push toward cheap parts. With so much information around, it can be hard to find the right part for the right price!

That’s why we’ve committed to being different. We want to be the first port of call for anyone looking to modify, enhance or maintain their vehicle, and to be the UK’s biggest re-seller of Porsche parts.

We have over 20 years of experience working in the motor industry and are proud to have built up a reputation for excellent customer service and trustworthiness. We don’t just sell parts for profit – we genuinely want to see Porsche cars in great condition, lasting as long as they can and looking beautiful well into old age.

Media Inquiries

Phil and his work with Tech 9 have been mentioned in many racing and Porsche related publications such as Car Magazine, Total 911, Ohlins, Top Gear, BRDC, British GT, Autosport, Aston Martin Racing, Daily Sportscar, Liverpool Echo, 911 & Porsche World, Automoto Portal, Due Motori, Crash, Autoevolution, Racing, Motorsport. “Excellent service from start to finish. After sales was fantastic! I felt with Phil the Director and nothing was too much trouble. When I had an issue with a TechArt module (turned out to be a problem with an installation done by my local specialist) he phoned Techart in Germany and had them call me immediately to rectify. Can’t recommend Phil and Tech 9 highly enough, Thank you.” – Leon Riddle
