Engine Info

Post by MikeS911 »

Hi All. Does anyone have a photo of a 2.7 RS Piston, original Porsche. Was there an "E" Piston in the 2.7 engine?
Thanks MikeS

No response from the ddk experts!
Odd.
I think you will find your answers in the Bruce Anderson book, but I'm no expert, but thought the S piston and cas were usedHope the people who know will answer you.

.

This is a set of Mahle 2.7RS pistons & cylinders:

- there was no 2.7E - the other Porsche 2.7 engines (150 bhp & 175 bhp) had CIS injection & the pistons ( which were cast as opposed to the forged RS pistons) looked very different

Hi Andy.
I did not think there was an "E" engine for the 2.7 but wanted to make sure. I have just stripped a 2.7 with the E cams which had what I thought from memory was the RS Pistons and Barrels.
I just wanted to make sure as I have a set of "S" cams that I may put in.
Thanks again for the pics
Mike
