Perhaps get him to Google "911 oil gauge" and look at the pictures?

Tried that with all sorts of entries but did not specify the location or colour of the lights

If it has the OIL can in the display then it looks like it is red as per the pictures on this site..........

If it was a 3.6 it looks like it is GREEN?.....

Can not find anything for an oil level light, but if your friend has another light at the top of the gauge it looks like it is an oil warning light for the SPORTO model, or on some it had a ‘B’ for brakes??

This thread discusses it quite a bit

Failing any of this, try to find a Pdf copy of 'Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 ULTIMATE OWNERS’ GUIDE Book Gordon Wingrove PETER MORGAN’ some one on here might have a copy and can see if anything is in it. Could not find a Pdf copy on google.................

I'm pretty sure my (1988) 3.2 oil gauge matches this one - so a red light next to the gauge. But they may vary.

1970 911T, Signal orange (Restoration thread)
1988 3.2 Carrera backdate, Black
2001 996 Turbo, Lapis blue (am I allowed to put that here?)
I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

My 88 3.2 with ignition on, just one oil warning light in red which I would assume is pressure as its on the pressure gauge. The gauge for oil level has no warning lights.
