A change of direction....
After 25 years in the City, I packed it in this year...need an aforementioned change of direction...the great thing about these old cars we all love is that they are a passion. Some are able to combine their passion with work and also make a decent living from it. So, as the first stage in an attempt to do the same...I have taken up the paintbrushes. My grandfather did the same, albeit a little later in life and become a successful professional portrait painter. A different level of skill involved in getting a likeness of a human face, so sticking to what I love, I have started to paint cars.
Using acrylic on canvas and on a reasonably large scale (the one below is 1m x 1m) as its certainly easier on aging eyesight!!! I have now done two, not having painted cars before, this being the second one and am well onto the third - a 1958 Ferrari Testarossa.
I hope you like it, the cars shown are my two classics, the light ivory SWB 911 having been sold earlier this year, partly to allow me to make this change.
I am pushing the art on social media so would appreciate a follow if you can - please check out veloceart67
Thanks all - appreciate any feedback! Commissions will be taken at some point in the near future once I have a few more under my belt. An early 911 is coming soon.

Dude. How is painting going to help with all the economic growth we need to do from trading all the stuff?

Brave man. If you’re doing what you love you’ll probably be successful. Be as prolific as you can, and keep developing your style, and we can all say we knew you when you first started out - and look at him now! All the best
Re: A change of direction....
Thanks all, will see how it goes! Change driven by several factors, one being a need for less stress, health etc. Nothing ventured…he who dares etc.
I hope to get to the stage of being prolific! Part of that is working on technique and developing style as you say.

Re: A change of direction....
Lovely!
As a mere pen n ink sketcher, I admire anyone who can make colour work so well.
With your approach, I feel keen draughtsmanship is essential, ellipses correct, perspective too let alone lots of real detail, and the above just shows (illustrates!) you have it nailed!
All just imho.
I would never have the patience to try let alone hone things to this level of perfection.
Smashing!
Are there any others on here with a similar leaning?
