Definitely maybe Mark! Also hoping for a Rallye Kit 67S and one of the RHD TRs - 8 or 9 RHD SWB cars in total

Impressive group of swb cars. Will be good to compare my t/r rep to an original car.
What would be super cool is if the original t/r is the car I based my build on .......rhd Paddy McNally car....

I’m therefore thinking about heading off on Saturday afternoon as it’s a 2 hr + drive for me and finding a nice pub with accommodation in Halstead but wondered if anyone has any recommendations at all?

Thanks.
I'll be travelling down from Leeds on Saturday, where about are you located in the UK? I'm staying The Suit at Pannells Ash. It roughly 0.5 miles away from the castle.

I’m in Bladon, Woodstock and am staying in a b&b in Long Melford about 10 miles away at the recommendation of emjo.

He just said Long Melford’s much nicer than Halstead where I was initially proposing to stay, so I investigated on Booking.com! Not many places will take a Saturday night-only reservation though!

I wasn't sure if we could hook up on the way down but our paths won't cross. As I'm travelling from Leeds I'm planning on staying over on the Sunday night which I guess has helped with booking a hotel.

No worries. Hope we can meet at some point during the day however - look for a Tangerine S (PGU 911K) in the ‘72MY display.

Sound, hopefully I'll see you there. I'll be in the 356 line up in my patina'd silver/grey coupe (CBU 369B)

I do have an excellent alternative which is my local classic car club - 'Sadcase' which is an acronym for Storrington and district classic and sportscar enthusiasts. There is NO annual membership fee, a basic committee, close on 2000 members and the statement of the club is if you like it then so do we. You can't say fairer than that and we have big meets throughout the year, twice monthly pub meets and amongst a few Morris Minors and such there are some stunning motor cars to check out which does make a nice change from 100% Porsches. However, I've paid me money and I will be at CatC so I'll see you all there.
Saw a great Porsche promo film with you and the 356 in last week Graham, I think it was with new Porsche poster boy Brock Keen going to his first Le Mans Classic.

Yes unfortunately Mike as it rusted quickly
but fortunately got written off after being rear ended. Had a Blydenstein (sp?) conversion a year after purchase to give the 1200cc a whopping 102 BHP. Lowered suspension and 5" wide wheels. Can't say I missed it when it was gone.
I remember as a young boy going to the showroom to help ‘pick’ my grandfathers retirement car (i.e. the one that was to do him for the rest of his life-which it did) in March 1966. He chose a blue viva deluxe. It was £625. Next to it was a white Brabham viva with the black bonnet and wing stripes. It was about £150 more than the deluxe (which of course was way over budget) which I looked at longingly. I inherited the viva in 1983 after grandfather passed and ran it for several more years until it needed serious welding (which I couldn’t afford at the time) so it went to the scrappy.

Regards
Mike

True everywhere.
You pay your money and take your choice.

Long drive there for us, + £30 parking, but if that's what you fancy, job done.

Will spend much the same entering and hill climbing at Loton park.
Better value for me.

It is a great show though, always enjoyed it . Has a lovely feel to it, but for me it’s always been about meeting up with ddkers I’ve not seen for a while. Was never a fan of pcgb latching onto it though what with their historic poor attitude to the classic Porsches ( which is why DDK was formed )

As for this year, I’m not sure wether I will get to it or not as it is a long way from North Yorkshire unless I’m making a weekend of it with some beers the night before
