The thread does say "Barrie is still building 904s. He has 6 in the build queue after mine. But he stopped taking orders for new builds a year or two ago. Barrie is 71 and it he completes on average one car every12 - 18 months."

Quality is very good,
In terms of installation, it went in pretty smoothly by all accounts, and was removed a couple of times during the shell restoration phase

That’s good to hear. £566 for one on Carpoint’s eBay page doesn’t seem too bad to me for a quality item.
No diagonal support bar on yours then?

I removed it, many 68 race cars never had the diagnol, my car was build to emulate a well known 68 t/r racer.....

Hi Matt,
I need to get a roll bar too but have put it on the back burner for now to concentrate on the shell. I did some research and found the tube outside diameter was 35mm and the Centreline radius(CLR)of the bends was 270mm. I contacted a few roll cage manufactures and tube benders and most couldn't do the required CLR. T&T Tubecraft could do the bends but it was going to be £300 just for supply of the main hoop with bends. I'll try find some time next week to see if I can get the bends done at a more sensible price.

Agree with Andy: 40mm O.D. drawn tube not the cheaper welded.

Got to be worth using the right steel, cds.
Is 40mm a standard size?
I think 41.3 mm is.
A lot of CDS are old imperial sizes

I know that the RAC MSA used to specify CDS for roll bars, and probably still do, so if nothing else it means should there be any future competition use you have the basis of an acceptable structure, that any additional tubing can be added to.

The Motorsport uk (RAC/MSA) stipulate the tube dia and the tube wall thickness in order to comply with the regs known as the ROPS, roll over protection system.
The main hoop in question here I think is 40mm minimum and certainly CDS.
Details on the Motorsport UK web site under Saftey. Section K.
Just looked in my 2020 edition of the Blue Book, forgotten how badly written it is. Tube dia is 40mm min.
The main hoops in my 911 and my LOLA are 41.4mm dia cds.
