Engine grilles..

Post by g3ngs2 »

So when it comes to engine grilles which way did you go??

Right now there's no engine grille on the car, but there are choices..

The only remaining non interfered bit of the car is the engine grille, so it's very tempting, but then on the hand, it hasn't been interfered with so there's a temptation to go and do something about that...

(First time back on it's wheels since work started in February - few bits to finish off this weekend before it's off for MFI tuning)Image

First plan. .... going with the original de anodised one as it's the only bit that hasn't been messed with...

The one at the back is new and having test fitted it today it requires to be bolted in and then start to take the shape of the engine lid as it starts life not as curved

The one in the middle is an original one that's been sprayed black and the the one at the front is exactly as it when it got taken off the car in FebruaryImage

Yup... It's on... Body shop fiercely supported that perspective.

For what it's worth, the new one is being sent back. The arc of the new one versus that of the deck lid would definitely require one of them to bend to the otherImage

They should be for that year, the grille should be too but one time the anodisation unanodises back.

It may have an outing this week with the black one

Yes, black anodized for 72/73.
Have a faded 72/73 911T and letter set if you need.
