has anyone heard of a company called " performance auto check "...a guy called john brittain in brum who advertises in porsche post.....

i mention it as going through paperwork on the car i found the card....

this was one inspection i had done pre purchase.....he found a few probs and siad a bit of welding would be needed...nothing scary blah blah....i was new to the 911 thing and took him at his word.....having had my recent inspection it seems not only did he not spot glaring problems
but welded over some of them ..badly......dont want to be libelous...just sharing an experience...just in case.....he said it would be a small job and when i returned form holiday phoned to say it was 2.5k......and apparently , re mark @wwclassic.com and parr garage....the worst welding they have ever seen....and dangerous.....a cautionary tale !

we haggled on money and on the fact that he did alot of unauthorised work....even though he had my number......i phoned him recently after latest inspection to say i was looking at suspension upgrades etc and could he remember the car..he did...and alot of details about it.....i asked whether he thought the chassis of the car was up to it " lovely under there"he said...."no signs of any probs..youve got a good sound car there
with standrad welsing that all 911's need at some point "......

so there you are.....admitting all this publicly is a tad embarrasing....but
i was a new to it all !!.........oh well as alanUK says...always learning !!!

A cautionary tale indeed pb911.

We've run a very effective programme of protection against just such a situation, UHITE. We always make prospective service providers fully aware that we have no heistation in running with a UHITE policy should the need arise and have, as yet, had no problems. It's unfortunate that you were unaware of such a plan.

UHITE

U Hold, I'll Twat 'Em. Works everytime!

Sorry.

I meant... accidently set in motion a string of unfortunate events that would leave him in no doubt as to the seriousness of his actions and therefore the consequences.

That's better.

(note to bootsy/miggs: you may want to delete this thread if it goes to litigation for pb911 )

yes i knew that was that you meant....really........(from a lawyer that statement would have cost £200 .............plus photocopies £20 ..............attending to calls£70.........one tin of unleaded petrol and one box of swan vestas £12........advising on suitability of dark clothes to wear and train timetables to birmingham etc etc etc !!!!!!

or what about this DDK invasion/BBQ night.......meet at the garage
7 pm have swap meet and then flick a fag onto the petrol soaked
papers (FT copies form lawyer) accidentally dropped outside said establishment.......

this is getting silly !!!

Mr Bootsy Lubbock would like to publicly state that he neither wishes to partake in revenge tactics or endorses the views of DDK members who feel that it is a dish best served cold.

Sort the bugger out though
