I think a few on here like these demons, and at Prescott a few were hard at it, the little red single seater though was my Pick of the Day.

My favourite all time mod is a7 related. As we know it's a 2 bearing crank. To allow it to rev to some unholy rpm they grind the cases out which stops the unsupported middle of the crank which must be going bananas (shaped?) knocking the cases. Simples...

Ha, 'tis true! You also must skim 20 thou off the tops of the middle two pistons to stop them hitting the head.....modern repro cranks improve this situation considerably, and the fully counterbalanced race cranks almost eliminate it.....I bet most older design cranks are distorting at 7000rpm...
