Maybe a tad optimistically priced. Herbie 'only' managed $128k!

The market has spoken!

It said don't sell all your celebrity Elans at the same auction

Competition for the car with Emm-appeal was fierce setting a world record £146k + fees (estimate £80-£120k). None of the other famous Elans made low estimate. If your teen crush was Cosworth engineer Keith Duckworth you were in for a bargain…

A bargain compared to just under £600,000 for a low mileage Sierra Cosworth today!

Hard to believe both Duckworth's and Rob Walkers FHC went for around £40K!
From the pics and info provided they looked in stunning condition.

All the best

the consignor purchased "a set of period RS 500 wheels and tyres in order that TKN's date-stamped originals can be carefully stored and not have to bear the weight of the car for prolonged periods"

That’s a pretty hefty premium over a non-celeb car though. A decent S4 is around £25k I think.

The Walker car was £49k it was a drophead, the Duckworth car was £39k it was a fixed head. All these plus the Buyers Premium.

It was interesting that the “last” Sprint also a fixed head was £45k, without any celebrity tag
Cheers

Hi Mike
'My Bad', I miss-read the walker car as £40K, still plenty of "dealer' cars around the £40K mark over the last year (and I was told these cars where near concours condition)...
Strangely the 'Duckworth' car had the most appeal to me...

All the best

prices listed on the Silverstone web-site include buyers premium @ 12.5% of hammer price (but not VAT on buyers premium which adds another 2.5% of the hammer price)

I was sent a screenshot of the online catalogue showing the result last night.
I’m sure we’ve been here before, last time around it was e type jags and Aston DB 2/4s….
