I'll never forget an advert in the Exchange and Mart when that was the place you bought cars: "JENSEN INTERCEPTOR. Two cars for sale. One requiring restoration. Second, perfect, except for small underbonnet fire." You felt the stern hand of a woman presiding over the writing of it.
