356A T2 front bumper - will earlier bumpers fit fit?

Post by 3ftDeep »

Hello.
I just wondered if earlier cars had the same front bumper as the 356A t2.
If not, how different were they? Could they be modified?

Thanks in advance

Looking at Brett Johnson's Authenticity IV (highly recommended) a single bumper type was used from Oct '52 to the end of A models

Later models had cut-outs for the through-the-bumper-guard exhaust pipes & holes for the over-rider tubes (the latter US market)
maverick
noun
1. an unorthodox or independent-minded person.
2. an unbranded calf or yearling.
Origin mid 19th century: from the name of Samuel A. Maverick (1803–70), a Texas rancher who did not brand his cattle.
