1965/66 Porsche 911/2 Original Bosch 7045 Headlights
Hi All,
I have a pair of Bosch 7045 headlights for 1965/66 SWB cars. These are for RHD cars and are original (raised letters).
They are in very good condition for their age still with their factory Bosch tags. I can send more pics
£1500 ONO plus shipping or pick up in the Cambridge area.

If you have an early swb these are the units you need. In rhd they are as rare as hell.
If the lenses are not too sandblasted they are worth the asking.
Regards
Mike

E1 marking on '60s RHD lenses? The UK did not join the EU until 1973...

.
I think the E1 marking refers to the country where the certification was originally granted - '1' represents Germany ...

The 7045 lenses are really rare - I've been looking for years for a spare one!

Care to explain why some Euro-spec indicator lenses had the E1 marking and some did not?Lightweight_911 wrote:.

The light department of Bosch was located those days in Germany and the RHD lenses had been produced for several other RHD countries. Certification was done also in Germany. So the E1 (Germany=1) is the correct.
There had been earlier lenses with a snake sign, which was a German certification sign before the E sign was introduced.
There had been also a time period with E and snake on an part.

According to the link below, the E-marked lights were introduced in 1977.dirk07 wrote:There had been earlier lenses with a snake sign, which was a German certification sign before the E sign was introduced.

This thread should answer the ‘e’ markings, as well as the part number on the yellow sticker on the reflector, as well as the date code, showing they are genuine early RHD units
