Worth a watch just to see the presenter amazed at a car with no power steering or headrests.

But it keeps the gears!

Is it me or is that link a wetransfer file containing a presentation pdf?

I think this is the intened link:

However, 30 to 50k for a conversion that gives around 100 mile range and a 2.5 hr recharge time? Needs to be much more viable than this - which is the general problem with electric vehicles. I think this industry is suddenly expected to be in it's viable prime but is still in it's infancy.

However, having said that, this 356 conversion, using the 3 pedals, clutch and gears is excellent and exactly what you'd want.

The car looks super and goes quite nicely but the video winds me up. Firstly 356's are quite reliable. Secondly changing the engine will not suddenly make it a daily driver. I hate to sound like a dinosaur but removing the flat 4 from a 356 is like taking the soul away and you have to pay lots for the honour. I'm sure it would be fun to drive but then I would like to get back in my A and take it home.

I totally agree with you Neil.
I’m not convinced either. My philosophy of late has been to deal with problems as they arrive rather than trying to second guess and beat the system!
I’m sure that the smug chap who bought the best computer he could in 1995 thought he was future proofed... Technology has to be one of the fastest moving wastes of money that there is.
I’m a dinosaur too. Nothing beats the sound and smell of a slightly agricultural petrol engine, they breathe and they’re alive with a soul.
