Restoring a buckled Fuchs

Hi all

I have a Fuchs wheel that’s taken a whack. The close up makes it look a lot worth than it actually is, and the full photo shows how subtle it is on first look. There are no cracks and I think it would hold air as is; but clearly need to fix it.

Who in U.K. is the best option for pressing it out?

Thanks for reading.

Is it worth trying Tuthills as they may have experience of similar damage from all of their rally work?

I’d assume they outsource, so taking it to them I’d pay a double markup, versus taking it direct to someone. I did wonder if it just needed a decent wheel refurb company rather than a Porsche specialist.

Anyone that’s done this, would be great to hear.

These guys did a bent Fuchs rim off my 3.2 Carrera a while ago with no problems. The damage was worse than the photos. I can't remember the cost but it was not silly.

Cheers

Having personal experience, I would strongly recommend you speak with Ian Jamison Engineering in York. They were excellent when I needed something attending to:

Thanks for the recco. I ended up speaking to a couple of companies including this one, and I’ve decided to go ahead with Ian Jamison. It’s be going there early next week (posting it up); I’ll let you know how it goes, but they seem confident in sorting it, and price was reasonable.
