Again I echo about new tyres - I remember once on a rally, my tyres ‘going off’ on a stage, not a very pleasant experience and more akin to driving on ice! - With new tyres you will certainly have more confidence in the car as well.

Thank you all, and of course fresh slicks are now needed, really felt the absence of grip yesterday and tried to convince myself it was due to cool air...

Kept of saying to everyone who would listen to me about fresh tyres in front of Mrs hillclimber, so i think she knows what is coming.
Good job I've sold the bikes!

Tempted by a camera Keith, will have a look.

You are dead right, I could have taken nearly .25 sec on the start line with fresh slicks. The TVR was all new tyres.
TVR drive (Mr West) has strong history in the TVR challenge for decades and is super competitive, and younger too.....

The TVR nearly lost the plot just after the bridge on one of the runs I watched.

Well done Graham, looks and sounds like a terrific engine you have built! Where have you set your redline?

Delighted that it's all working out in the end, even if the journey wasn't much fun for you at times...

The slicks were put on the back burner as the cost of this engine went skywards...
And, (in my mind,) until I had sold the 2 motorbikes, now done.

Need to get a permission, but I doubt Mrs HC will object too much, she understands the need. Hope to get a set for Shelsley.

Cleaned the car today, all ok.
Adjusted my new seat belts and tightened the drive pins on both rear uprights(!)

The TVR will be my problem this year, there is always one!
The entry at Shelsley in 2 weeks time is 'colorful' to say the least.

Shoulder is only a real issue getting out of the car, but the adrenaline is still there at the end of the run. Things take a long time to heal when as old as me.

Sounds fabulous Graham. Good job! Always takes time to get used to a new thing, but that's the fun of it!

I too had a little twitch at the idea of 5 year old slicks
How many heat cycles have they done?

And yes onboard footage is what we need!!

Yes, engine and gearbox out yesterday, down to Exeter, and by 7.30pm the culprit was found, the roller bearing on the end of the 1st/2nd gear cluster, which had been perfectly quiet before the last re-assembly.
Thankfully nothing too difficult, should be up and running in plenty of time for Harewood.
