Stock con rods, balanced, with ARP bolts
How many rpm can they take?
Thanks

Re: Simple question about 3.2 911 rods
Watching this. I wonder if freely available 964 / Turbo rods fit and withstand higher revs?

1988 3.2 Carrera backdate, Black
2001 996 Turbo, Lapis blue (am I allowed to put that here?)
I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

Re: Simple question about 3.2 911 rods
3.2 Carrera, 3.3 turbo and well as 964 con rods are the same.
With ARP bolts 7000 rpm is no problem. Most engines will struggle
to reach this sort of rpm without other major work and if you were
going to this extent then you might want more than 7000 rpm so it
makes sense to fit lighter rods which can cope with 8,ooorpm.
I hope that's helpful.

Re: Simple question about 3.2 911 rods
Yes, that was the conclusion I came to.
The Carrillo rods are on order and are expected around Xmas 2021, probably before the main bearings and chains arrive....
I have ordered the rods with the 'extra strength' bolts which will take over 8500.
Above 6800 ish the stock pistons give up, hence the JE 10.5 ratio pistons also arriving Xmas 2021.
I think the working red line will be 7800 as the cams peeter-out about then (GE60 grind)
The racing springs and titanium top caps should keep everything together and not floating to 8K, but some think the stock springs will do 8K.

Re: Simple question about 3.2 911 rods
Thanks Rob, my Carillio rods are awaited, might arrive late Dec and the engine build can start.
Those rods will need new arp bolts added to the price, duties etc and the cost soon mounts as my recent experience has show from Europe.
