Even longer time no post...

Post by g3ngs2 »

I think I might be knocking on the door of ten or more years since my last post. Long enough at least for either me to have forgotten the email I had back then or for the system to have binned my user name.

As I'm not as original as Silber / Herr K I went with the inspired throwing of the number two after the old user name.

Since those days the air cooleds have come and gone and so have a 924, some 944s and a 996 and a couple of wives (see point on air cooleds gone...) Several years of karting with my boys along the way (I did the spanners and everything else and they got the driving end of the deal)

Fast forward to now and a three owner 1973 T still with its MFI is on its way from the US, it got picked up from the boonies a couple of days ago so should be here in about your guess is a good as mine, so hello all :)

Interested in how you tracked the car down in the US, did you have some one looking for you or did you find it on a for sale ad?
cheers

Welcome back :)

I’m guessing you are a radio amateur based on that user name?

Thanks Gary, funnily enough no.g3ngs came from something else, though I did grow up with amateur radio and spent more time at RSGB things than I care to remember. G3PRK is my father who's more then a bit enthusiastic about it

Hi, I'm interested in the process to buy and import it from the USA. What ads did you search and how did you arrange the import with the vendor? Was it a private sale or from a US dealer? Any advice on finding a good car by this method? Thanks in advance, Rob.

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

I couldn't seem to get that to cooperate and have been deep in it with two product launches over the last couple of weeks. (The last one just shipped)

Having tried and failed with a few hosters I kind of gave in and went with a half assed Photobucket (just in case you haven't noticed from the pictures that it was 1) half assed or 2) Photobucket
