Hello

Who does restore the anodised window frames?
I’ve tried Nick but no reply.

Anyone else experienced doing this preferably near to Suffolk / Norfolk ?

Thanks Lee

Mike Champion (MCE) can do them. No where near Suffolk though!

Thanks.

Do the frames come out easy of the front and rear windows. Will they go back easy for installation?

Thanks

They come out yes, easy? Well… it depends if the screws all come out in one piece

I left the rear windows in their frames for polishing as I couldn’t undo the screws, but obviously this doesn’t work for anodising.

Front 1/4 windows and frames come apart easy enough as the screws are suitably chunky.

Doors seals.

Anyone got a preference on what to use ?

Is it worth going genuine or are there any remade out there that are good for a 69t?

Your thoughts would be beneficial

The front window frames are difficult to readonise. The frames have steel inserts in them for the bolt threads. The anodising process dissolves these. As a result, most restorers mask parts of the frames rather than having to replace the inserts. If there is anyone out there that does these properly then I'd be really interested to know. Nick restored mine using the masking method. They look good, but stripping them properly would potentially give a concourse rather good enough result.

Hello, need some advice. I have four holes on the rear seat panel. Unsure what it was for but do I weld them up or just put a rubber plug in them?

Would anyone keep them as a reference?

Thanks

Hopefully someone will post a better photo but there are a couple of (poor quality) pictures in this thread:

I think I used this Pelican thread pic as a reference too, for positioning my washer bottle bracket (pic with the yellow circle). Ultimately though, I found the most comfortable position for the bracket with the washer bottle in place and marked its position with a felt tip pen. I spot welded mine in place from the petrol tank 'hole'.

As I remember it the rep rubbers caused some issue and then swapped them out for genuine

Hello guys. I think you are talking about something different?

Your talking about the washer bottle in the front panel. I was asking whether I should weld up the four holes on the rear seat back panel or just plug. I’m unsure what would be here. Maybe something bolted in engine bay.? The holes are quite large.

Here is the pic again with four holes… thanks

Hi Lee, nothing like that on my car, but that has the later bulkhead/shelf.

Certainly nothing I can think of that would bolt to that. Maybe a luggage box at some point in the cars life rather than seats?
