Hello Gary,
Thanks buddy, it don’t look too bad but will remove the paint and clean the area to see the damage.
The edge the other side is the same but a lot smaller. Very minor work.
Thanks Lee

Resto thread for 119100008 69t
Hi Gary.
Looks like I’m lucky. Only surface rust and the top panel is in good shape. This is the worst side out of the two.

Looks good, certainly better than mine! Next step to pull the dash out and whip the grinder over the flange to really see what you've got, hopefully still the same good story

This is my car now, still with the dash out. There’s a hole missing from the RH end that I’ve yet to drill into my repair I made.

Thanks Gary,
When you removed your dash. How many bolts in total was there to remove?
That’s my next job. Plus the heater unit.
Thanks Lee

No idea to be honest Lee!
Four I think, and there are a few pegs into plastic plugs that broke off on mine.
Once you’ve taken out the heater and the wipers hopefully it will become clear!

Lee, The shell looks to be in fantastic condition.
Will look great in Light Ivory
Will you be running a stock T engine or upgrade to 2.0S-spec?

Hello Ian,
Yes I really like light ivory great early colour.
Because the original engine was missing when I got it I’ve had a few changes.
So it’s a 2.2t engine with S pistons and barrels with an S Dizzy. And solex cams.
I ran the car for a while and really liked the sound and performance. Oh and running on Weber’s and twin outlet dansk stainless exhaust with SSI’s.
I had the top end rebuilt a few years ago with the changes. Really trying to find time to get it stripped but been away a lot during the past two years. Damn covid!
Thanks buddy

Re: Resto thread for 119100008 69t
The guy who built the engine for me said the heads were in good shape and had been polished if I remember. I asked if I should change them but he said I don’t need to re-invent the wheel.
They were his actual words…. Hahah

Re: Resto thread for 119100008 69t
If I remember correctly the engine guy at Greatworth recommended porting the T heads if upgrading cams etc. as S and E heads have bigger ports than T. I'd be interested what power curve you get as I'm working out a plan for my 2.2T at the moment.leedurrant73 wrote:The guy who built the engine for me said the heads were in good shape and had been polished if I remember. Unfortunately I can’t help you as my car doesn’t run at the moment and will be a while before it will.
I was looking for a mild tune and I’m really pleased with the performance.
Never had it dyno’d. Probably will later….
All the very best with the engine. Lee

Re: Resto thread for 119100008 69t
Hello, I’ve started the paint strip the rear area around the engine lid. I’ve noticed the bottom lip has been folded in?
Can someone explain if this is correct or if I should straighten it?
Thanks
