I have got some verniers in the garage but there small. My lining is still in at the moment.
Little but frightened to remove the front and rear windows haha

Seem to be getting an extensive list of replacement parts ready for the restoration now. The car some seem to have much rot yet. So crossing the fingers.

Hope that lack of rot carries on.

Take that brave pill and get the screens out, see what you find on the corners. Unless they’ve been glued in it’s normally only one good shove and they are out.

That’s funny. I remember a bit of metal work passenger side of front window that needs work.

Will look on you tube for windows removal

Gentle (or violently if not reusing!) the aluminium trims then push the top corner of the screen from the inside with the flat of your hand and you should find it start to move. Then do the other corner and work back and forth until it releases

Is it worth folding back the rubber and spraying some wd40 inside the seal ?

^^^ That's what I did 2 years back when I re-painted mine. Both eased out very easily, re-used everything.

30+ years ago when I restored mine there was rot everywhere, except the screen corners.
30 years on and really summer use only, there was significant perforation of the lower corners, tedious repairs followed.
Rears worse than the front, drains installed on all 4.

No rot in the corners of the window. Really pleased. I got it out in one piece

Hello Gary,

I was advised to replace the parcel shelf because it has speaker holes cut. I’ve purchased a replacement.
Not rot from what I can see. Will paint strip the area around the window.

If it not rotted just repair the holes.
It’s quite intrusive getting it out and making sure it goes back in the right place so the engine lid still shuts.

That’s what I thought originally and will ask. Do you think it would save money.
Smaller job to patch rather than fit a whole new shelf?

Absolutely easier to repair.
However if there is the slightest hint of crusty right in those back corners or in the closed section that runs across the car then whip it out.
