Engine rebuild has commenced so hoping my swb project will be on the road by the end of June.

Engine builder has asked me to consider looking for a set of new cams as on closer inspection my original S cams could be better

I am considering G40 cams does anyone have experience of G40s in a 2L engine

Thanks
Mark

Why not send them to Piper cams and ask for advice. They’ll explain the trade offs of hotter cams and can reprofile yours to original or hotter spec.

Piper ground me some cams from fresh blanks to ge40 spec ( which in itself isn’t far off a stock 2.4S / 2.7RS cam )

No idea how they would perform in a 2.0 though

I've a set of Dougherty DC40 cams, they are a modified S cam. These are in my 2.0l race car - its at Mervyn Johnstons Magherafelt waiting on a dyno run. I'm sure John Keatley also ordered a set for his rally car. Poss call Mervyn for a chat?
