Apologies if some/most/all of you consider this heresy but I am quite impressed by the workmanship that went into https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-porsche-914-38/ In some ways it was a shame to take such a nice example and modify it but on the other hand best to subject a known good shell to the torque of a V8.

I'd rock a 914-V8 any day of the week, if it's done well... Love this car but I change the JBW wheels to real Fuchs or Maxilites.

I like it. I am not so sure about the radiator hoses running up the centre, they look pretty exposed so would have been tempted to run them through the heater channels and hide them, or use hard lines, but it is a pretty easy fix on a really nice car overall.

Perhaps they wanted to avoid having the hoses near another heat source?

The heater channels would be redundant - you would use a heater matrix up front for heat, so no heat exchangers. In an early iteration of my race car I ran the oil lines from the front cooler down the inside of them, I removed them later to save some weight as the front cooler just was't necessary for such short runs

wowza; sold for $60.5K plus buyer premium.

looked to be a very solid original shell and a careful build by a meticulous craftsman.
